Matt
Elliott and his team mate called in requesting to be picked up by the
support team. With Matt struggling with swollen lips and Yoyo not be
able to consume food, the team was brought forward to the checkpoint for
treatment by the race doctor and a short recovery period before
attempting the second leg to the South Pole.
All
teams are constantly under medical surveillance and when reaching the
Mid-race Checkpoint everyone has to do several medical check-ups and
rest for at least 24 hours as this is one of the most extreme races in
the world.
Keep supporting Matt in his journey and don’t forget to make your guess on Matt’s arrival!
